i'm learning from mistake....

don't know why recently i got so many problem, previous my essay missing, camera memory card die,and yesterday night my condo off electric for 3 or 4 times... and some other things....haiz...

 today morning i go college early to print my work and research... and print screen the interactive website that i likes... my macbook can't print screen, so i need to go college do...and i forgot save it to my thumbdrive...arg....luckily, i got print greyscale for it.y i'm so careless...during holiday i back hometown use my sis pc to print screen again.

i look into a few of website, i find 3 website is quite interesting... after i will link the website link...hehe

today,my group is late for tutorial, i so scared that ms tongyin will not give us tutorial..coz we let her wait for about 45minutes... thanks ms tongyin still let us tutorial. me also is 1 of group member i need take my responsible to informed them come early for tutorial and remind them to update their blog.

  

after today tutorial, we have a lot of thing need to improve, like target audience, mood, style, site name, .....oh, afteroon i forgot bring down my moodboard!!! now suddenly think of it!haizzz...

time is past so fast, or is i slow....

first time we do work together gather....

argggggg....last friday we go klcc photo shooting whole day... but... my stupid memory ''die'' liao... T.T... i try use card reader, and 3 different laptop to open, but no laptop can detect me memory card.... Lastly, doctor is confirmed my memory card ''DIE''!!!!

yesterday (13/12) we go ''mouse office+room'' start our mock-up. first we need combine the video first, then see how it flow then decide how to design it. our MR. rauf got the , so we let him combine the video, but they dun know the format and how to convert to the format that can import into the flash...they trying and searching and trying....

at first, i have nothing to do, then i go find find interactive website to see how it interactive... i found a website teddiesinspace.com is quite interesting. it is a designer website. it draw illustration into boxes to create all the button and other stuff. i like the thing that use 2D and 3D combine. after, i wan tryout some paper and media to design my button.first, i just tryout some simple button design, make it roll over and some effect... in ms ruby class, i know how to do...but when i do myself, got many problem... i got a chinese version flash book, and photoshop web page book... i need to study first then can do my button...

haha...just for fun...^^

before we go home, we come out the site map, target audience, media, technic...

WHY WE HAVE TO CAPTURE AND DOING THE THINGS IN THE KL? WHY WE ARE NOT ALLOW TO CAPTURE OTHER STREET LIGHT I CERTAIN PLACE SUCH AS PUTRAJAYA? - MR RAUF

outing day~~~

12pm me and charlene arrive klcc for meeting up with group member and doing photo shoot, record sound, record movie... my group member haven't arrive yet, so me and charlene go buy some stuff and go my favourite place-Kinokuniya to read some web page design book and discuss the thing that later we need to do... after reading some book, already 1pm something, me and char decide go for photo shooting first, while we arrive the door to fountin, they arrive, so we go meet up...

after get our task, we start to walk around and to find our ''street lamp''... at first we try to capture sound by camera and handphone, buy the sound is so noisy and can hear the actual sound... so maybe after we will try other thing to record the sound. after that we just some environment beside the street light. we separate two time for photo shoot, 1 is afternoon section and another is night.

in after section, i found in the park got quite a lot of different design street light... i got record the video at some place...the see the people walk around...

at night, i found that the different street light got their different characteristic, example at some dark place, the light of street light is more bright, at some light place the street light is not so dark, the area is quite small.... unfortunately, my camera something wrong, and charlene camera memory full, i use handphone to take photo, but the colour is not so nice... after finish all shooting, we go back at 9:30pm... char and i discuss that we will do some try out with different idea and with different media...
after i will upload the photo...if my memory card is still can read... haizzzzzzzzzzz

today morning class is few people attend and ms ruby is like a bit unhappy... i think that we are a student, we need to go for class and with punctual time and this is our responsibility... today lecture is more easy to absorb maybe is because yesterday got some basic skill already... i feel so happy and to look forward to go home and try the software. this morning some of my group member didn't come for class, after i sms to them to confirm that they will come for afternoon tutorial or not...

xiangher and zhenkuan got ask us about the idea for GD club event, they will sell thing in next year january. their concept is focus on recycle, then charlene, wendy and i give some idea to them, wendy think that because the date is near to chinese new year, so maybe can sell some thing that related to chinese new year, she also suggest that use newspaper to write '' chun lian'', and i suggest that can use some ''ang pao'' to do lantern, or use the problem printed paper to bind into a notebook or....

after lunch, charlene and i go library to wait them come and we can have a meeting with our own rough idea... at first, i though our tutorial time is 3pm...but actually is 2:15pm...sorry ms tongyin for coming late... at first, jianjia come library to call us back, when we want back, priscilia ''twin'' sister call us, she want us to join her group to helping her doing the packaging for the GD club event. when we go back to class, ms tongyin is there already... omg... and we haven't discuss our design and... this time ''mati liao''... T.T

during the tutorial, ms tongyin mention that we are a group, everyone have their weakness and strength, we need to know each other...and she thought our group got any argument or unhappy thing...haha... actually we didn't happen those issue... because we didn't have group meeting for the idea development... and .... our idea is rough and we still didn't observe street light in depth... ( because my printer and money problem... i print the photo with thumbnail size and without colour... the photo is so small and black... is quite hard to see... and charlene and me forgot to bring our video and sound record to college...)haizzz... after asking ms tongyin the 10-15 is function or what??? actually is different kind of street light, is not function... charlene and i do wrong already... and i know that i do wrong already so didn't show the brainstorm to ms tongyin... but i still didn't do much of work... is my own problem, i cant feel sad, i need change, i need work hard and improve my verbal... last time mr. sean got tell me that my verbal is not good and before going to tutorial need prepare what i want to said. i know that when i was tutorial i was always don't know want say what and choose to not say, but until now i'm still like this. i really really need to change!!!!! BE WELL PREPARED!!!!

ms tongyin also got mention that we didn't update our blog... at first, i know the blog is to write about a project and the thing that i haved learned but i still not really know what need to write, can i write my emotion when do project, can i write some problem that we meet, because the end of this project it need to print out for submission, or i just need to write the process of doing this project. charlene got asked me to update me project blog, but i was so blur to write and due to internet problem... make me so lazy to update... is my personal problem again... i need to change la!!!!

after tutorial, we realized that our progress is too slow already, so this week we need to work hard and more. we come out some idea and direction, we decide tomorrow to go photo shooting from klcc to bukit bintang. the park in klcc outside is more calm and bukit bintang is quite a busy place, is quite contrast. daphne and rauf is doing photo shooting, jianjia, charlene and i is doing sound record and movie record.

this all is our problem. the time management, communicate and the teamwork... we will change and try the best to do our group project!!!!!!

thursday is prepare essay for next day tutorial... and my essay document in laptop is missing or replace by other folder...haizzzzz

at friday, at afternoon we have tutorial so after the time is evening already, so we decide to go KLCC for photo shooting research...

arrive at there, we go out the park and walk around and take street light and the environment photo... at the park in different area will have different street light... on the way back to home... i was trying to record the video and charlene is recording the sound... when we in LRT, i found that the scene look out from window when the LRT is moving is quite interesting and can see the street light in the city... but my camera read error... so just saved few video only...

sat, sun and mon is focus on Essay...

at tuesday, all group member is so tired and no energy... so we decide postpone photo shooting to wednesday....

wednesday we have flash class, from the lecture, i found that flash is easier and more fun compare to the Dreamweaver... and ms ruby teach us quite a lot if thing... we are trying adsorb as many as we can... after class, we decide to come out rough idea first after come out the idea then we will know our direction and easy for photo shooting...so today no photo shooting... each of group member need come out 3 rough idea... after thursday morning class, then we will have meeting and combine our idea... then come out a final idea.

charlene come my house and we do together... we do brainstorm the street light. we research on what function of street light, the inventor of street light... in brainstorm we write about the disadvantage of street light, the purpose of street light, the reason why we choose street light, emotion of street light, concept and others... we also think of 10-15 function or meaning can bring out of street light.

Function: lighten city, decorate city, visibility...

Disadvantage: dangerous ( the loss of night vision), road accident, harmful to earth...

Purpose: visibility, safety, decorative, lighten...

Reason: i choose street light is because it can be a sign of city, in different place have different design of street light, different design of street light it has their own function and the thing that want to bring out...

Emotion: lonely, responsibility, reliable...

10-15 function or meaning:

emotion: hope, reliable, accompany, safety, responsible, lonely

function: lighten city, decorative city, bird rest place, lead people to the direction, sign of the city...

after do this, i come out 2 rough idea:

first idea is ''sign in the city'', target audience is focus on tourist, objective is to help those tourist to recognize the place and easy to remember

the homepage will have the city landscape with different kind of street light in dark, when the mouse roll over the lamp it will show the city with the light and can click to link to the page is about the place or the information of that street light. the graphic is in a cube or round ( global), when click on it, it will turn can see it is a 3D cube or global

second idea is ''friend'', target audience also is tourist, objective is to promote, attract and help the tourist easy to remember the place.

the home page is dark background and some light effect and  the word ''did you know me?''. when roll over the light spot, i will pop up a street light and street light is lighten a place, after click in will see the information of the place... in homepage will also made a dark spot.. when roll over will come out a broken light... and a switch to on and off or a sun and moon.. if click off the light, will not see anything, and if on the light, will see a beatiful city night landscape...

First tutorial

I have brainstorm a few idea for doing KL field guide, i think of what is special thing and can show is in KL city, which is Street Light, Typeface, Sign/Icon, Bus/Taxi stop and others... Street light is more interesting and can show the KL city, in KL city have different design of Street Light. In day time, street light maybe is an decoration for city; at night it lighten the city, without the street light, the city will become dark and make people get lost, but also have some street light is not function...

After first tutorial, we have four idea, which is Street Light, People-Beggar, Window, Typeface. We need reread and relearn the subject and also think the subject in depth, think of the different culture and the places, and surrounding of the subject.


We discuss we do some information research, take photo, do some sound capturing for street light, beggar and window. After then we choose 1 of this three subject.


Tomorrow will be an interesting outing to do research... so later need to do some information research on those subject and planning what i need to do.
Now i need write my essay first....hehe...^^

Pro 3 Visual Language-signs in the city brief

Looking, Thinking and Expressing are central to the success of my project 3 - Signs of the City and crucial to our success as a designer. Everyone also can look, think and expressing, but we need to think how to look, think and express different with others. Making the ordinary extraordinary is very much part of the designers' repertoire.

As a designer we should see that inspiration is all around us. Design is not simply something done only in a secluded studio, or arrived at by revelation, but is a mundane and direct process of making a series of decisions.

The purpose of this project is to 'reread' and 'relearn' the city and its visual language. after come out an interactive field guide website. The site need be designed as being functional, user-friendly, and clearly communicates our subject. We need find a set of ten to fifteen similar things readily available in the Kuala Lumpur city habitat. We can record them as video, capturing sound, photograph, illustrate or other methods.

This is an 1 month's group project. All my group member will play important role in this project, they are my AR Charlene, finding mouse de Jian Jia, my warm up project group member Daphne and the only boy Rauf. hehe.... wish we will enjoy doing this group project!!! KAMPATEK!!! +U+U+U!!!^^
